Apartment- Interior Remodeling
Year- 2014 proposal
Area- 1250 Sq. Ft.
The design intent is to maximize the comfort and the openness of the available space. Rather than sticking exactly with the clients suggestions for the appropriation of the space, uses have been accommodated keeping in mind the longevity of the design and sustained comfort in the environment. The studio apartment has been converted into the master-bedroom with the ensuite bath. The existing bedroom has been modified to make a flexible space housing the teenager’s bedroom that could be split either to a library or a guest room when required. The living and dining area has been kept in the central bay. All structural walls have been retained and the modulation of space keeps in mind the connection of the utilities in future.
The design vocabulary is industrial / minimal with an earthy palette- white paint, wooden flooring and furniture and distressed metal finish for the internal partitions.
