Light in the Midwest

Light is the subject matter in this project. What interested me about this subject is that in essence light is always the subject of a photograph. When the shutter opens the photographer captures the light present on the film and thus what is being photographed is nothing but light arranged in a particular manner. Directly looking at light and shadow (lack of light) as the subject forces you to pay attention to light as the medium and not just a part of the process.
When framing a shot I look at the composition and the shapes in the frame the same way I would if I were drawing. I think of the subject matter more in terms of shape, value, and, of course, texture more than the subjective nature of what the objects are; an objective approach versus a subjective approach.
