With this series I focused on capturing small instances of light patterns and compositions that I found formally appealing. I find the objectivity of light as a subject appealing, allowing my work to focus on formal qualities. All of my images show the viewer something ordinary- something anybody could see on any given day, but when photographed and hung on the wall are afforded the opportunity to be looked at critically. I want to show the viewer what I saw in the moment and realize the beauty of that moment, for just a second we can all share in the same experience of seeing without subjection, the hope being that the context of our individual lives and of the culture around us will fall away in favor of a simple moment of beauty through formal composition.
