Speaking at the ceremony, the Head Juror and Deputy Director of Architectural Services, Mr Stephen Tang, said: “the Jury are impressed by the high quality of the winning entries, in particular their innovativeness. The designs are not only functional but also practicable and invaluably blend well with the surrounding environment as well as the unique traditions of Tai O.”
The Acting Project Manager (Hong Kong Island & Islands) of the CEDD, said that, upon completion, the footbridges at Po Chue Tam and Yim Tin will relieve the crowdedness in the central area of Tai O and improve the connectivity within the township for the benefits of local residents and visitors.
