Puncture Resistant Bib Overalls for Deconstruction

The scope of the project was to research design opportunities in protective wear. I chose to focus on deconstruction, the selective dismantling of buildings for material salvage.

My research includes interviews of industry and a site visit. I discovered that puncture injuries on the leg were common and none of the products on the market were protecting the workers. There is also a lack of protective wear for women.

I designed leg protection for women in the industry. The garment not only had to provide protection, but also fit comfortably and look aesthetically pleasing.
