Soon after moving to the United States I realized that not being able to eat using chopsticks put me in a small miniority. So when the chance to redesign a hand tool came up, I decided to redesign chopsticks, hopefully learning how to use them along the way.
In fact, me and my two teammates initially set about trying to design chopsticks that could help laymen like us learn how to use them - but soon figured that keeping the design integrity of chopsticks was more important. From then on we decided to create as many different versions as possible, and test them out against existing designs to find what design won in terms of ease of use, comfort and aesthetics.
