K-Inventory is a container that keeps track of consumables in the kitchen and updates you (or a carer) remotely if you are low on stock.
This is useful in a situation where you are out shopping and need reminding of what you have in the kitchen (or for those in a position of care for someone living independently in their own home, it will facilitate assistive care support by notifying the carer when they need more food).
K-inventory has the potential for an RFID scanner to be set in the lid, anticipating the future of food identification being RFID. This would allow for more features on the K-inventory app, primarily a profile of the contained item including nutritional value, sell-by-date etc
