U Brand Identity Manual
U is a birth control brand that is targeted towards 13–20 year olds, both male and female. I was inspired to create the brand because during this time many of my friends were dealing with teenage pregnancies because they were too ashamed to buy birth control. The truth is, kids are having sex at an alarmingly young age and they aren’t receiving the necessary tools that they need to make life altering decisions. U is a birth control boutique that not only supplies products for save sex, but also has on-staff nurses to answer questions and inform teenagers about the risks. This boutique doesn’t promote sexual activity for teenagers, but is simply a resource they can use. After establishing the brand, I then created the logo, letterhead, envelope, business card, banners, interior design, store layout and way finding system for the boutique. After these key elements were created, I was then able to start creating the written guidelines for how to use these elements within the brand.
