Elgin Greenway Pavilion
A First Year individual project
Sudbury is making a linear park that is running through the length of downtown, and we were asked to design pavilions that we think would benefit by being on the Greenway. My project, specifically, was a 'Take a Book, Leave a Book' pavilion, providing the community with an open library where they can sit and read while still feeling like they're outside (have you ever sat down by a tree to read? Bugs crawling on you, scratchy grass, etc. Not fun, in my opinion). The interior layout is reminiscent of a labyrinth, to encourage a symbolical sense of 'getting lost' within the books.
