Cellist, 2014 This is a very old photo taken of a young ghost cellist. She would spend all of her free time playing the cello because it was her passion, and ever since she was little she dreamed of becoming a famous player. She had a natural gift for the large instrument and was well on her way to playing in Carnegie Hall, but disaster struck before she could do so. She was carrying her cello across the street to play in her favorite spot, inside of her school in the band room where it was quiet, and her view of approaching cars was obstructed. You can guess what happened next. This photo was captured by a student who heard music and thought he saw something in his peripheral vision. Photoshop: 1. Aligned two photos, which have the same backgrounds 2. Erased the background of the photo with the "ghost" 3. Applied sepia tones to both layers 4. Changed the opacity of the ghost to 58% 5. Used the burn tool along the edges to make it look old 6. Applied 16% motion blur to the ghost layer
Good-bye, 2014 This photo is of a ghostly student who is saying goodbye to her school, where she was considered to be one of the kindest people. She died in a tragic car accident and left her friends and family behind. On the other side, she is saying farewell to the places that were dearest to her. What I did in photoshop: 1. Aligned two photos, which have the same backgrounds 2. Erased the background of the photo with the "ghost" 3. Changed both layers to black and white 4. Changed the opacity of the ghost to 53% 5. Applied 16% motion blur to the ghost layer 6. Changed the background to look darker and the light coming from above to look brighter by using various adjustments.
Keeping Clean, 2014 This is a girl who lives on top of a giant's dresser. Sometimes the giant doesn't dust when the tiny girl likes, so she has to do it herself. She is enjoying the view from the top of the dresser in this photo. Photoshop: 1. Erased the background of the girl layer using magic wand and eraser 2. Shrunk the girl down and put her where I wanted 3. Painted a shadow with the paint brush tool under the background layer 4. Adjusted the levels to make the girl brighter
Stuck, 2014 This is the same girl who lives on top of a dresser, but this time her giant friend decided to be funny and put her in a jar used for decoration. She's evaluating her surroundings in the photo, trying to find her own way out. Photoshop: 1. Erased the background of the girl layer using magic wand and eraser 2. Shrunk the girl down and put her where I wanted 3. Erased parts of the shoe to make them appear to be in sand 4. Lowered the opacity (less around the lower leg) 5. Adjusted the levels to make the girl brighter 6. Made a shadow over the shell by distorting and warping a painted over copy of the girl layer
