'Design a handheld device suitable for a purpose of which a smartphone application would be inappropriate.'
The concept I have chosen to develop is a handheld tutorial device aimed to develop skills in DIY, and promote self sufficiency.
Within 2013, 90% of European households are planning some form of home improvement, yet a recent survey found that 1 in 5 British males cannot rewire a plug. In the current age of technology, people are engaging with DIY less than ever before. My proposal, D3Y, aims to reconnect the consumer to DIY by integrating digital media into the task.
