Phillips Metal Works
I am currently rebranding the look and feel of Phillips Metal Works, and designing a series of brochures to showcase the artist's wonderful, organic metal sculpture and architectural elements and accessories. The project began with a 'reimagining' of the old tried and true vector logo John, the artist, had been using for many years. We loved his old logo, but it needed some 'polish' and bringing it into the 'new look'.
Our second project was the web site design (in progress) and the first brochure of 3 planned, to showcase specific lines the artist markets. The first brochure highlights the artist's more abstract creations. The plan was to 'let the art speak', so graphics were kept to a minimum. I stuck with organic and metal textures to create an environment similar to the metal shop. Not some pristine place, but a gritty place replete with hundred year old metal shaping machines pounding furiously at super heated slabs of solid metal in the tradition of old world blacksmiths.
