Processes & Principles - Fruit Bowl

Kitchen Storage

Designing a storage solution for the kitchen environment will enable a target market of young adults (twenty to fifty years old), both female and male to work effectively and efficiently.
Some research suggests that one of the biggest problems in the kitchen is when fruit and fresh produce goes off, especially when there is a close proximity between the varieties of fruit. Furthermore, ethylene gas given off by bananas, ripens fruit at a much faster rate, thus making it inedible. This creates a lot of waste food and money and subsequently, the public aren’t as enthusiastic about eating fresh produce. I will need to create a product that allows fruit to be separated from one another and a way in which the user can eat the old fruit first.
