Pressure cooker - PRESSURE COOKER (2004).
This concept was developed during my internship at LLUSCÁ DESIGN in Barcelona.
This Pressure cooker was designed based on the European women market.
One of the biggest issues they consider while buying a pressure cooker is safety; considering this, emphasis was made on making it secure but without loosing a slight and stylish design.
Most pressure cookers in the market that want to reinforce security, have a huge metal structure on top that makes them look huge and not easy to deal with.
When buying, women also consider how easy to handle it is. Every pressure cooker is easy to handle when it is empty, but they are always used filled with water or food.
Considering this, a handle that goes from one side to the other was designed, making the lid stay secure under both joints, so users can get a good grip, reducing accidents.
Another thing considered was how easy to open and close it is. When the user grabs the handle, she has a small button in the middle of the grip, which works as a joystick button that moves back and forth opening and closing it easily.
