Glover Court Dublin-social apartment block retrofiring Site Study Software: Revit, LEED, DEAP, BuildDesk, Therm

The design extrudes ground surfaces highlighting the various pedestrian and visual axis of the space. These axes are further reinforced by low level eco polished concrete walls which rise out of the ground plane and disappear again. The resulting surfaces are in turn landscaped through the application of material with simple modern alignment of furniture and lighting. This approach reconnects the user with the landscape while also providing a universally engaging experience for the senses. Small format Kilkenny limestone is used underfoot to eliminate gird and pattern at this level and to provide simple texture on the ground surface. This material is absorptive to compliment the lightness of the LED light benches and strip lighting in the paving. Software: Revit

New Park and Entrance to DCU- Dublin, Ireland Revit- Landscaping design The eye is drawn to the sculptural feature on the highest landscaped surface of the space. The installation of the sculptural Corten steel element has imposing verticality on an earthwork that serves as a plinth. This plinth is highlighted through the use of white diamond quartz in the vertical extruded plane, a manufactured recycled and ecological alternative to similar surfaces. In visual terms, it is an apparently autonomous element, yet this sculpture takes up the space actively and precisely, as a group and individually; it determines movement as the user navigates their way around the whole ensemble and crosses the space. It not only heralds the presence of DCU in a timeless and iconic way, but introduces a new, dynamic and radical image for the campus.

craft and architecture - This project is a temporary â€œGreen Technology Pavilionâ€ for small intimate events during the Electric Picnic. The hexagon shape design in this case is perfect for small performances while the performer could be in the middle of the building and the viewers can be seated around ( there is 40 sits). This building shows wonderful collaboration between architecture and craft as can be seen by the Celtic patterns in the interior (on the floor, and ceiling) and exterior of the building.
