NASA Human Development Unit (HDU) - Our loft will attach to this NASA structure which acts as a laboratory station. This picture was taken during our trip to the Johnson Space Center in Houston in October.
Badger Exploration Loft - The Badger Exploration Loft is a finalist in the NASA X-Hab Academic Innovation Competition. I am a design consultant for different aspects of the project, helping with the logos, interior space, interior furniture, patterning of the shell, and sewing the entire shell (with multiple layers and pieces) together. The project will be presented in NASA JSC Houston in June.
BXL Structure - The BXL structure mostly inflated with a few minor adjustments to be done by the engineer team members before packed and shipped to Houston.
Emergency Door - I'm standing in front of the emergency exit - the real door will be hatch in the center of the loft leading to NASA's HDU. This image shows the size of this two story structure.
Interior Decoration - NASA is all about clean, white and sterile interiors, but I couldn't resist decorating the loft interior with three images representing the Wisconsin University culture. I think the astronauts will appreciate a bit of decoration in their space!
