Scarab World Solar Car Competition

With the intention to design, test and manufacture a complete solar car within the limitations of University facilities, it was important to draft a set of criteria that would comfortably meet these demands.

The final concept presents a unique and competitive opportunity for the Cruiser Class competition of the World Solar Challenge. We believe a digital manufacturing approach will provide a major advantage by enabling rapid iteration of components, allowing students to optimise components on-the-fly. The user-centric concept also delivers a unique driver / passenger experience with available technology. Data has been digitally presented to the occupants offering an opportunity for applications outside of the competition including haptic feedback safety features benefiting drivers in mainstream vehicles. The design offers an exciting opportunity for UTS and other invested parties to embrace electric vehicles through cleaver design and innovation.
