Expo 05 - A showcase of the designer's final University products held at Museum Africa, Johannesburg. Designed within strict budget and transport constraints, the stand demands attention while providing a complementary space for the products on display. Informational brochures hang from magnets next to each respective product, facilitating free movement for the viewer.
Hermit - Stainless steel tube, woven Nylon webbing and rubber The fusion of cheeky modern style, local traditional craft and unusual material use adds up to a stylish, practical and socially aware pet shelter. Inspired by local weaving techniques this product aims to address the country's pressing need for job creation as well as the needs of pets and their owners. The "Jetsonesque" silhouette and sleek bent metal combo should warrant a wag from even the most stylish of owners.
Douglas - Cork, brushed aluminum / ABS While many of us have a weakness for vintage designs steeped in nostalgia, we still want our objects hardwearing and hi-tech. This DAB radio finds the balance with its use of tactile cork combined with the old-school charm of classic-Kodak-camera inspired face. The face comes in two material variations: one in retro brushed aluminum and the other in modern white ABS.

Shoulder table - Sirino table top, powder-coated mild steel structure with rubberized feet. Designed as a work-station for the Design Department at the University of Johannesburg, the Shoulder Table provides an ample work area along with a mapping draw for storage. Boxy proportions ground this utilitarian piece while the softer curves of the table-top are a friendlier invitation to work. Needless to say the Shoulder Table is a real workhorse that can comfortably sit in an assortment of diverse environments.
Swift - Prototype: wood and acrylic Product: aluminum and mild steel Swift is light, silent and unobtrusive, but certainly no wallflower; accent detailing and an off-centre, circular light softens the strong geometry of the piece. All functions are controlled either by remote or the modern wall-mounted panel.
Show off - Aluminum and Polypropoylene From boardroom to gallery, Show Off is ideal for displaying presentations and artworks. Adjustable to fit any format from A4 (8.5 x 11") to A0 (47 x 33") the stand travels well, folding down to a light and compact one-meter-long aluminum unit with colorful and convenient handles.
Lulageza - Wood, zinc tub and rope Lulageza addresses the need for an improved washing system, (especially for elderly people) in rural areas by facilitating use at two different heights; 200mm (7.8") for bathing and at 600mm (23.6") for household washing. The addition of a tap reduces strain on the back caused by lifting a full tub while its simple design is DIY-friendly and fully collapsible. Winner at the Prototype Awards 2004.
Dolly - Stainless steel and resin Inspired by the shapes and intricate ornamentation of antique cutlery this set aims to elevate hanging cutlery to a new level. Dolly modernizes these sentiments with subtle detailing and South African touches so that nobody should be shy to bring this set to the table. 3rd Prize Mr. Price / House and Leisure competition 2005.
