The SNAFU posters are a series of expressions commonly used to describe a situation in severe disarray.
Most of these are non formal acronyms of military origin. For example SNAFU (Situation Normal, All Fucked Up) and FUBAR (Fucked Up Beyond All Recognition).
In radio communication or polite conversation (with a senior officer with whom you have no prior experience) the term "clusterfuck" will often be replaced by the NATO phonetic acronym "Charlie Foxtrot." The same applies for Whiskey Tango Foxtrot.
