Michelin Competition, Fall 2005 - The theme for the Michelin Competition 2005 was to design a tire and wheel assembly for a specific region in California incorporating in the design Michelin's revolutionary 'airless' technology The Woody is the quintessential surfer's vehicle and is very much a part of the Californian surfing culture. I chose to re-interpret this classic drawing inspiration from surfboards, windsails, modern furniture and wood grain patterns.
