Growing up playing music all my life I witnessed the affect of budget cuts on my schools music program. Schools can't defend budget cuts for music because it doesn't affect a large amount of students. However, students don't participate in music education because the curriculum is archaic and expensive for parents. I witnessed the explosion of interest in music when my high school began implementing a contemporary music experience. With the right solutions, music education could benefit all students.
