Traditional crafts in India are under threat, partly due to globalisation & westernisation of the region. The weaver artisan, who has relied upon his skills for thousands of years, is struggling to provide for their family. This design intervention is a product for members of the artisan's community. Woven using traditional techniques and materials, this bag can be unstrapped to transform into a flat rug, perfect for displaying goods to sell at a market. At the end of the day, the goods can be wrapped up in the material & the inbuilt straps fastened to transform back into a satchel.
