Choson Dynasty
Final Project for Bachelor's Program at the Art Institute of Philadelphia. The inspriration was the Korean Choson Dynasty, which reigned from 1392-1897.
Focused on the Dynasty's Confucionist beliefs and the shifting rights of women as the Dynasty matured.
This collection was, as a whole, a take on the fluid gender roles that we have today vs the gender roles they had back then. Mainly a menswear collection, it can change into a women's collection quite easily.
Chosen to be one of 7 designers to show at the Philadelphia museum of Art's Friday after 5 program, contributing to the merriment of the PMA exhibit: Treasures From Korea.
