Second year re-style research for the classic Citroen DS - The top of this image shows market analysis, Citroen analysis, and looks at the original Citroen DS through both a marker render and package drawing.
The bottom is a moodboard trying to capture the best of Citroen; in particular, how the DS fits in.
Re-style project for the venerable Renault 4 - The top sketch is a proposal for a modern interpretation of the Renault 4.
There are two market renderings of the original underneath, and lastly a potential ad for the new 4, playing on the design's versatility.
Second year Alias modelling/rendering. First project: Classic Lotus Esprit - This was my first model in Alias. In hind-sight, the body work is lacking detail, and in cases there were gaps. However, the learning curve was steep, and I believe I captured the essence, plus I was pleased with the wheels!
Final year minor project: Concept for wrist-worn information device - The premise of this device is that it is not just a time-piece, but a purveyor of information.
PUK: Portable Unified Knowledge, aims to help you do more...
The default mode is that of a wristwatch, however it shows time in a relative fashion, making it easy to determine the amount of time lapsed and remaining.
It can also convey information on such things as stock market levels, eBay stats, betting results, your own timetable... In short: anything you choose from the intuitive set-up website.
Speakerscope: Speaker design featuring physical representation of the sine wave to accompany music - This image is shows all the major components that make the Speakerscope, a loudspeaker that produces a visible sine wave representing the music that is being played.
The 'Actuator' is based on conventional drive-unit technology, however it has no diapragm and so would not contribute to the sound, instead it would take the same music signal that the rest of the speaker does, and its oscillations would vibrate the 'Optic Length', thereby creating a glowing, physical sound wave.
Loudspeaker design showing physical sine-wave feature - This is a Photoshop side rendering of the Speakerscope loudspeaker. It shows the 3D oscilliscope representation glowing, and in full motion as if complex music is being played.
In addition to a number of tests, I have made a full sized, fully-functioning model that demonstrates, quite literally, that the principal is sound.
Available in a wide range of colours and with three conventional drive units ensuring a dynamic performance, this is a unique product for any hi-fi enthusiast.
Exhibition Design Proposals - These images were modelled in Alias and fettled in Photoshop.
The purpose was for an assesment day at an exhibition design company, and the design was to a pre agreed spec, for The Exhibiting Show at Earls Court.
These examples incorporate the company's corporate colour of teal, and meet the criteria that were set.
Exhibition Design Proposals - These images were modelled in Alias and fettled in Photoshop.
The purpose was for an assessment day at an exhibition design company, and the design was to a pre agreed spec, for The Exhibiting Show at Earls Court.
The tight space had to house seating, three presentation areas, a 'glory wall', secure storage and adequate comfort for staff on a three day event. It had to be production feasible, and easily assembled and disassembled.
Custom Tyre Tread Pattern - This proposal takes car customisation to new levels of dedication, where the very tyre tread is an excercise in branding.
I produced a number of concepts whilst applying to an OEM Automotive company, of which this is one.
The concept is true to the company's vision of individualism and excess, if technically challenging to achieve in production.
