This is a close up of the design I did for emerging materials. It was inspired by the breakthrough flat flexible speakers designed by Warwick Technologies. It was designed with cyclists in mind. This was done to ensure safety when riding by providing a music source with out jeopardizing ambient sound which can result in oncoming collisions. Designed by aMorle 2011

Flat Flexible Bike Speakers

This was an independent project I did while I was in an emerging materials course. I discovered paper thin speakers (Warwick Innovations) and I applied them to a design. This design is suited for the cyclist who has a passion for music but wants to be aware of his ambiance to ensure safety. This product can also foster relationships if two riders are stationary at a red light and they share similar music interest. I see this as a social and functional design that can eradicate the number of irresponsible cycling accidents that are caused while riding with headphones.
