Pump Free Commuter Longboard

This project is an attempt to promote longboarding as a valid alternative to biking as a sustainable method of transit. In a straight comparison, a longboard is equal in speed and turning and is also much easier to pair with public transit (due to its weight and easily storable shape). I designed the shape of the deck to be symmetrical and subtly concave to help maintain balance without skimping on maneuverability (as it would be used in congested urban environments). I also bored two holes near the trucks to aid in both theft prevention (lockable with any chain lock) and for storage on a standard coathook. There market of longboarders in growing rapidly and in almost every demographic. With this project comes the possibility of many accompanying products including, but not limited to, skateboard specific locks, carrying bags/slings, shoe covers/brake pads, etc.
