About
I am a fifth-year industrial design thesis student at Syracuse University. In addition to my design classes, I am also pursuing a minor in Psychology. I enjoy bringing these two passions together to create user-centric products and experiences that have a positive impact on people's lives. Almost every product is designed for people to use, so in order for that product to be truly effective, I believe an understanding of those people and their needs is crucial. I enjoy conducting extensive user research in order to build empathy for the user, and then using this empathy to fuel my designs. When I'm not designing, I love spending time outdoors hiking, camping, biking, and snowboarding as well as playing the guitar and writing music.

Industrial Design InternNew York, NYJun 2014 - Aug 2014 (2 months)Contributed to several multidisciplinary design projects, designing products to be implemented in urban environments. The three products I worked on focused on telecommunication, public safety, and innovative lighting. Conducted extensive research, produced ideation sketches, 3d modeled products in Rhino, and rendered products in Keyshot. Also gained experience working with multiple clients and catering to the clients’ needs in a fast-paced and deadline-driven consulting environment.

Footwear Design Intern (Performance/Running)PumaJun 2013 - Aug 2013 (2 months)Worked on the Running/Performance team. Redesigned several running shoes to include a new technology and created tech packs and shell patterns for them, helped design a new running shoe for the Spring/Summer 2015 season, created and applied colorways and materials to many shoes, gathered research and inspiration for the season’s new design direction, attended many meetings and conferences, documented all of the shoes for the current season on an online database, completed two personal side projects, photographed sample shoes for conferences, and helped the rest of the design team out wherever else it was needed.

Design ConsultantGaylord Bros., Inc.Jan 2013 - May 2013 (4 months)Worked with Gaylord Brothers in conjunction with Habitat for Humanity, the Near West Side Initiative and Syracuse University to design library products and furniture that is being manufactured using reclaimed lumber from local factories. One of the products I designed (a library book stand) is one of a few products that are being manufactured in a refurbished cabinet shop in downtown Syracuse, creating jobs for local residents who were trained in the necessary manufacturing processes. The other product I designed (a set of stacking stools) is currently being used as seating in a local gallery.
