Between long hours and stressful work environments, doctors, nurses, and surgeons can become chronically dehydrated. This leads to conditions that prevent them from doing their best to take care of patients.
Working with the staff of Schiffert Health Center at Virginia Tech, I learned more about the self-care challenges that those working in a medical care environment encounter on a regular basis, including dehydration. The Hydracare concept was developed as a smart water bottle to help healthcare professionals stay more hydrated on the job. Components in the cap track refills throughout the day, illuminating sections of the progress tile on top, keeping the user on track to drink a customizable amount of water daily.
