WWII & NYC
WWII & NYC is an exhibit about New York City's role in preparing the United States entry into WWII. The exhibit focuses on world events leading up to US involvement, social attitudes for and against joining the war, the City's immense industrial and manufacturing capabilities, geography and entertainment options for enlisted men and officers alike.
WWII & NYC focuses on the creation of the female WAVES in the Bronx and the photojournalist and film training of the Signal Corps in Queens.
WWII & NYC also focuses on the lives of 13 New Yorkers who served during wartime and illustrates their experiences through personal objects, images and words.
WWII & NYC was curated by Marci Reaven and designed by the Exhibitions Dept. of the New York Historical Society with myself working as Exhibition Design Consultant.
