New Bottle Structure for Henkel's Soft Scrub Total Bath & Bowl Spray - 2010 AmeriStar Award Winner. Tirso Olivares was selected by Henkel Consumer Goods Inc. to design a spray bottle for a new Soft Scrub® bathroom cleaner product, offering consumers a convenient way to quickly clean and deodorize the entire bathroom, including the toilet, with just one product. The bottle design features a unique angled neck and spray trigger that allows consumers to spray right side up and upside down, providing ergonomic benefits during application.

Innovative structural package for Motorola’s line of headset accessories for global introduction - Motorola’s innovative package design is triangular-shaped and features an internal intersecting sloped plastic surface on which the ear phone components are supported by vertical clear plastic panels, creating a distinctive ‘display case’ for the headset products. This full-view presentation showcases the products in a unique way, enabling consumers to pick up the package and clearly look at the details of separate headphone components from virtually any angle.

Oral-B CrossAction Structural Packaging - Oral-B laboratories asked to put aside preconceptions about the materials,processes,and user interactions associated with current brush packaging to explore the broadest possible range of solutions all the while accomodating the merchandising requirements of Oral-B’s global retail clientele. The CrossAction package is produced using a patented pre-printed thermoforming process that saves Oral-B at least 25% of its costs over RF style packages while offering the consumer an attractive re-closable case.

McNeil Nutritionals. Splenda Reusable Canister. - The challenge was to develop a reusable and functional package that would encourage everyday usage for cooking, baking, and sweetening. The consumer preferred design is reminiscent of a"sugar bowl", which reinforces the "Made from sugar, tastes like sugar"Splenda brand positioning. The package features handle depressions that provide exceptional gripping power, the pointed directional pour spout controls the flow of Splenda and a large opening facilitates scooping and measuring.

Coca-Cola PET Contour Bottles / Aluminum Shaped Can - My relationship with Coca-Cola began in 1991 with the standardization of the shape equities of the fluted glass bottles, a global icon. Subsequently I extend those equities to a vendable cold case friendly PET structures in all sizes.

Sprite PET Bottles - As result of the success of the famous Coca-Cola contour bottle, I subsequently design the proprietary bottles for Sprite. The bottle features vertical rows of bubbles on the bottle wall to support the brand's positioning as a soft drink that refreshes like no other. Additionally the bottles are designed to "Fit" within a common manufacturing envelope to optimize operational economies by using the same filling lines as the contour Coca-Cola bottles.

Tang /Country Time/Kool-Aid Container - Kraft Foods Beverage division challenge was to develop a more environmentally friendly package than the composite can used by Tang, Kool-Aid and Country Time. The result was a package that greatly improves the way consumers open, dispense, measures and reseals powdered beverage mix. The most unique features I design in this package was the dome top that makes pouring and measuring the powder easier and the cap that seals the dome opening which also works as a measuring cup.

Allergan Vision Care Solution Bottle/Lens Case - Allergan Vision Care Solution for contact lens wearers, provides more convenient and effective easy to use system. Recognizing the opportunity to reduce cost and create a distinctive on-shelf presence, the outer box was eliminated and the focus was to develop a unique proprietary bottle with an integrated lens case. The final optimized solution brought Allergan a unique, ergonomically shaped bottle with an easy-open flip top and an integrated lens case in the base of the bottle.

Mentadent Dual Action Mouthwash Bottle - On the heels of a $90 million year in its toothpaste business, Chesebrough-Pons saw an opportunity to extend the dual-chambered dentifrice concept into the mouthwash category. I responded with a package that leverages the uniqueness of the two-part system while adding convenient features for the end user. The patented package incorporates two PET chambers that rest on a molded PP base, and a flow controlled dispensing system to accurately meter the components into the system's cap.

EAS PET Containers - Tirso Olivares patented custom designs were designed for EAS to reflect the premium performance/nutritional positioning of the brand intended for serious athletes,weight trainers and fitness enthusiasts. EAS proprietary barbell design creates differentiation from the traditional stock containers that are common in the nutritional/supplement category, while protecting the product from knock-offs.
