Screen print pigment and hand painted dye on cotton.
Inspired by Srikalahasti kalamkaris and based on photographs taken during 873 class, I recreated some scenes from our learning. Instead of hand drawing with the traditional kalam, I screen printed the outline with pigment and hand painted with dye in the traditional colors of yellow, blue and red.
