The Holiday Inn Express was a new commercial construction project located in Carlisle, PA. The site was located near a major highway and a gas station, so when major rock excavations were required, construction methods were reviewed in lieu of blasting, in order to avoid shut-down of the highway and conflict with the gas station next door. Steel was value engineered out of the building due to cost implications, and the porte cochere was redesigned with wood construction versus steel. This allowed for more cost to be spent in finishes, so a stone veneer was added to increase curb appeal.
