First catalog I did for CRS Power Flow... this one features OEM specialized jetting nozzles and centralizers for industrial cleaning. This company had been struggling to put together their catalogs, and wound up getting lawsuit threats from other manufacturers for having copied their catalogs a little too closely. I gave CRS a cohesive look and made it easy for the customer to find the catalog in any shelf, and made it easy to find what they wanted in each catalog. I did the photography if I had the item, if not, I cleaned up the manufacturer's line art and added some shading to make it pop. End result? When I started there in May of 1998 they were bumping along at $2 million a year. By the time they sold to Gardner Denver in summer of 2001, they were making $12 million a year. The owners have since regretted selling their company to Gardner Denver.

The newest look in the Nozzle Catalog... has everything by pressure rating and method of use. I did all of the photography, Photoshop work, desktop publishing, and then got competitive quotes for printing.

Just a page showing how I can take flat line art and tweak it to make it pop.
I did everything on this one, from the logo on out. This is styled as a completely different line, separate from the company's other lines.

Fittings are all the little pieces that you use to put the big pieces together... like your pump to your guns and so forth.

This is a brochure for a line of hydrostatic testers I did for an associate who worked at TriTan Industrial. I edited down the text by half in order to get it to fit on a single page. They were so pleased they wanted me to rebuild their website.

I just completed this brochure about a unique new hydrostatic tester. It is fully loaded with accessories and fits in the average pick-up truck bed. Hydrostatic testers are used in pipeyards, BOP testing in oilfields and in shipyards. The roads going into the average oilfield can't really be called roads, so towing heavy equipment on a trailer is difficult at best, but putting a compact tester in a pick-up truck bed and using a forklift to remove it by the forklift eyes or a crane to lift it out makes it far more practical.

Typical water-jet control gun brochure. The Double-Dump style is preferred as it requires two hands to depress two triggers in order to make it work, thereby reducing the possibility of accidental discharge.

Here is where the rubber hits the road. This customer had paid someone to re-do their 20 year old catalog. They scanned the drawings and streamlined them to EPS art without cleaning them up... the result, if you look closely, is wonky... pages 4 & 5 are typical of their results. The customer wasn't happy with it. I scanned the images from scratch, cleaned them up and streamlined them, then added the special "Suzanne Touch" by making the proverbial silk purse from a sow's ear. I inserted scans of the "before" so you can see what I did with the "after".
