Chosen Theme: Futurama.
To get a feel for the size and shape of the model, different profiles of the ship where up-scaled and printed on A2 paper. Dense foam was roughly cut to the dimensions using an electric foam cutter. The foam was then cut by hand using a blade to get a better shape.
Clay was then applied to the foam. Gradually individual features such as engine, windows etc were added.
The model unfortunately cracked when the clay lost moisture. Unable to contract, the dense foam forced the clay to split.
