I wrote 7 podcast scripts for my company, OWP, to showcase its expertise in the field of water/wastewater resources.
The podcasts are public, hosted by think-tank EFCN. The audience is mainly operators--that is, water sector professionals who are technicians, not engineers. So I opted for everyday language.
My challenge was to make highly technical/niche information engaging and listenable. And since the speakers would be my colleagues, not voice professionals, the scripts needed to be easy to read.
I gained info from Subject Matter Experts, OWP textbooks, and my own independent research. I was also instrumental in brainstorming topics, establishing a "voice," and leading the podcast charge.
OWP contributed 14 total podcast episodes to EFCN. I wrote all 7 "Small Wastewater System" scripts. Episodes are being added gradually to Spotify and to the EFCN site.
While most of the scripts are factual discussions, I also wrote a fiction script with a fun Halloween plot. Stay tuned! :)
