Animals
I do a lot of drawing. I draw studies of animals, their environment and nature to help me understand them better, their anatomy and movement.
I'm fascinated by animals, and the more I draw and read about them, the more I learn about their personalities and idiosyncrasies which in turn gives me ideas for characters and stories.
Here is a selection of the more realistic studies and illustration I have done to get a feel for the colours and markings of the animal.
The Vinyl image was commissioned by Twittbrief, and I was simply given the word "Marsupial" to illustrate. I imagined the marsupials as an indie band, and this is their album cover and record (painted with acrylic onto vinyl).
