Garment Project From the Children's Wear Collection of Spring 2022
We were tasked with actually cutting and sewing up a garment from the children's wear collection. Constructing this garment taught me a lesson or two about choosing a suitable fabric for the type of garment one is intending to make. The peau de soie satin fabric I had at home did okay with making gathers, but it is definitely not the best of fabric I could have chosen for achieving excellent gathers. As a result of sewing this garment with the peau de soie satin, I have updated the primary fabric for this collection to be that of Ombre silk taffeta, and it's fiber content is 100% Silk.
