Final Project: Playing Cards
Deep Space Repair Satellite - The first assignment for VC 100 was to design a robot using Adobe Ill. This is a repair robot, designed to fold up in a 'Hibernation Mode' for deep space travel or inactive orbit. A variety of tools stored in the hands allow the robot to conduct repairs on satellites, telescopes, and other spacecraft that would otherwise require three or four astronauts. It gathers power through the four solar panel 'wings', and travels using hydrogen ion thrusters on its legs. In case it falls out of orbit, the entire robot is covered in heat resistant tiles - similar to the bottom of a space shuttle - to make recovery after re-entry easier.
