Bruno's
This project was a concept for Birmingham, Alabama's supermarket chain Bruno's. It's old interior was drab and dated, not giving Bruno's the look it needed to live up to its quality food and products. This concept grew from the idea of grandma's kitchen that once was old and worn and is now renovated. Southern architectural elements are left the same but used in new
innovative merchandising ways with the addition of specialty finishes and materials. Fixtures are made from old tables and chairs while faux paint finishes are used to keep it raw and give it character. By doing this the space keeps it's Southern charm but has a new contemporary feel.
The new interior for Bruno's is updated with a fresh color palette, material choices and fixturing. Destinations are subconsciously created with the use of overhead rings to define spaces that welcome customers. A trip to Bruno's becomes a rewarding experience rather than a quick in and out trip to the grocery store.
