Gerson Lehrman Group, designing the design process
For my first project at GLG, prior to delivering a design, I had to deliver the UI development process. This project began before we moved to Agile, and after it became clear that the current waterfall process would not be successful for this project. As the senior UX owner, it was up to me to design a process that started with the BRD, produced a series of intermediate documents, and delivered full UX specification to the development team.
The big challenge here was to produce an IA document that was synchronous with Functional Analysis (FA), which had been the sole specification prior to my involvement.
As a contributor within this process, I primarily produced interaction models/flows & wireframes.
It was thought at the time that the company might move to Agile during this project, so this process also had to accommodate a possible change in process.
