My take upon modern album art.
I chose to theme this artwork around certain emotiomns I was experiencing at the time, I felt trapped, held down by my depression & negative environment. Birthing the project name "Shackled By Darkness".
Darkness in the mind has the power to alter even the strongest of us, it oftens feels like an unescapable cycle. Some try to break free time & time again, some may even try find comfort in their darkness & work with it rather than against it.
Upon my research into the "darkness" in my mind I discovered a study on an interesting topic called "Shadow Work" by psychologist Carl Jung.
This study heavily influenced the outcome of my artwork. Combining multiple elements that we see in todays album artwork, to create a darker,edgier aesthetic.
