Myself & fellow 3D artist Shawn (@visuallyrepresented) are HUGE fans of NAV. So we decided to start this project broadcasting that.
We noticed an emerging nostalgia; PS1 graphics/media.
In Blender, we began crafting our vision. Rendered with Eevee in the PS1 style and of course cycles for the realistic scenes.
It was very refreshing trying to emulate the graphics of the PS1. As the technology was so limited back then compared to now it was quite challenging to nail it at first. Though after applying the same techniques as many studios did back in the early 2000s / late 90's we were successful.
To commemorate the release of this project, we also made custom PS1 cases & printed labels for the discs that had the animation burned onto them. Capturing that PS1 nostalgia we had aimed for.
