Dark Ops Magazine Feature Graphic
I was recently presented with an opportunity to have my work published in an upcoming magazine native to Tokyo, Japan.
I jumped at the opportunity, Japan has influenced me creatively from childhood until this very day. The only criteria was to incorporate 3D-based work into the graphic.
I chose to use my original character "Chroma", as I felt that he represents the best version of myself. The use of a stained glass body is to represent the fragmentation we go through in life, both the good and the bad, the dark and the light. Coupled with a plentiful colour scheme, I felt that "Chroma" represented my ideas & values to the viewer in an interesting, yet unconventional way.
Of course, drawing from Japanese Graphic Design I found myself heavily influenced by the Japanese nature of ads to try and utilise as much space as possible. This helped me a lot with my proportions & perspective to ensure the graphic felt balanced.
- Character made in Blender.
