Project:
Design and create a 1920’s dress for todays modern customer.
Goal:
Have my design be picked out of a contest and be made from 2- D to 3-D. This dress would need to be altered and fitted on a live model to be worn down the runway.
Design Statement:
I designed a traditional styled 1920's dress with a modern twist for today's free spirited woman.
This is a dress you would see on the "It" girl. She is seen at all the hip party's and you can usually find her out on the dance floor.
I wanted Something that would
flatter the woman figure reveling her feminine curves but also leave something to mystery. I implemented this through draping techniques, dart manipulation and couture techniques.
