Multiuser interactive touchmedia has two modes: one for the docent presenter facilitate a conservation quiz, and one for visitors to work to earn badges for conservation skills.
A backend Content Management System (CMS) allows these digital labels to stay up-to-date with what species can be found on display in any live animal enclosure. Over thirty screens are installed throughout Wildlife Explorers Basecamp allowing light levels to remain controlled for animal health.
These "Magic Eye" microscopes are wonderful additions to any interactive interpretive space. What makes this application unique is that we invited visitors to take snapshots of their gorgeous microscope feeds and create art from that imagery. Visitors can email their creations to themselves from the microscope stations.

Visitors are invited to find stick insects hidden in two different environmental contexts. Upon finding one, visitors are given bite-sized information about the individual species.
The Migrations immersive exhibit is a centerpiece in the newly launched Wildlife Explorers Basecamp at the world-famous San Diego Zoo. A dual-projector OmniFocus solution fills the domed ceiling with projected insects as they fly above visitors’ heads, and a tall, dynamically lit meadow scene stretches around the edges of the space to create a “bug’s-eye”view. Visitors see migrating butterflies, flashing fireflies, and other creatures as the setting cycles from day to night. Spatial audio and the scents of flowers and grass make visitors feel they are truly part of the fascinating lives of insects.
The domed experience changes from day to night and showcases migrations of grasshoppers, dragonflies, and monarch butterflies. As the sunsets, fireflies emerge and beautify this entry experience to the Invertebrate building.
A live feed of bees in a hive behind these screens is projected onto the screens. The screens go clear when a facilitator behind the screens activates the gallery by demonstrating the hive in an educational program.
