The preliminary model was a quick mock-up rhino build which was then imported in the program 123D Make. With the use of this program I was able to develope a quick physical model to guage proportions. The model was created from interlocking foam board pieces that were lasercut.
Through modeling refinements, the design details were developed and the form and respective parts were modeled to fit together using no adhesives or fasteners. Test pieces were printed to gauge tolerances for final assembly fit.
Several texture variations and color options were explored using Keyshot 3
Model pieces were then tied together using a sprue system to simulate injection molding as well as the consumer model kit market. A final model was printed and assembled.

Rapid Prototyping

This was a quick project to explore the process of rapid prototyping. I developed a character and built a mock-up model which i then refined through modeling in rhino. The final design was developed to be printed in abs and to be assembled using no fasteners or adhesives.
