Hip Joint
Designed a hip joint in ANSYS and optimised the design using FEA with ANSYS to reduce the weight, cost and stress concentrations. Particular consideration was given to the stress on the bone, as it was required to be within a certain range. Naturally, too high of stress and the bone will break. However, if the stress was too low or non-existent in certain areas, those areas would die away.
