BIM technology allowed us to to collect, understand and manage great amounts of detailed data that was needed for design and construction

Using GIS along with BIM allowed a spatial dimension for the building design and analysis process to be utilised. It allowed questions to be asked (And answered) such as: Where are my assets located against existing infrastructure?
