Engineering: Hot Water Canon

The purpose of this project was to develop an experiment, create a theoretical model to predict the results of the experiment, and then validate the model by conducting the experiment.
My group designed a water gun, which would shoot streams of hot water that would be cooled by the surrounding air. The temperature drop for the water from the inlet to the collection site was the variable being measured.
For this project I developed the theoretical model to predict the temperature drop for the water, and performed the sensitivity analysis for the model. Additionally, I developed a large portion of the actual design of the system that was constructed. These sections that I completed are presented here.
