I was inspired by the idea of authenticity vs. imitation by the million dollars replica business from LV (Louis Vuitton) handbags. The authenticity here is reflected via the name LV, and the imitation is implied in the handbag which can be an authentic or a counterfeit one. I did live trace for both handbag (with three colors) and the logo (with one color). The process of finding the pattern tile is tricky because most of them turn out and look similar to the patterns which often appear on the LV handbag. I decided to create a pattern which completely different from these LV pattern by taking advantage of the letter LV and flip them around symmetrically. The LV letters are also intended to create the stroke silhouette. The first set of colors is dark and light chocolate and beige which resemble the very popular colors (brown and beige) amongst LV handbags. The second set of color is blue and the third one is red which are certain less popular colors amongst the LV handbags.
